Description

Huge, 2,000 sqft Cottage 3 Bed/1 Bath, 2 Family Rms, Full Kitchen, Pets Welcome
This three bedroom, one bath cottage has an extra pull out couch bed (queen) in the boathouse living room so it easily sleeps eight with three other couches as additional options.

Linens/towels/toiletries/plates/glasses/coffee cups/Keurig/coffee/grill propane included. The main cottage has a large kitchen with a full size refrigerator/freezer/stove/microwave/kitchen table, the 3 bedrooms (king, full, 2 twins or additional king) and bathroom (full tub and shower), and a walk-out patio with a new grill, patio table and chairs. The master bedroom has an air conditioner that cools the main cottage. There is propane heat for cool nights and a fire-pit to roast marsh-mellows on the beach!

The cottage is attached to the boat house via hallway where the deck or living room surrounded by windows offer the perfect setting to take in the lake and amazing sunsets. There is a recreation room in the lower level of the boathouse providing extra space to spread out, play games, watch movies or just relax. The cottage has cable and internet/WiFi.

Down the stairs from the main cottage is a private swimming/sunning beach with two brand new kayaks, pool floats, sun chairs, beach umbrellas, and 2 adult/3 children's life jackets included. It's a great, private place to take a swim or launch on a kayak fishing/site seeing cruise along the beautiful shoreline. While we don't have a dock (Predominantly West Winds), the front yard offers plenty of space to park a boat and trailer. There are two public boat launches nearby (West Swanton Boat Access .2 miles and Tabor Point Boat Ramp 4.2 miles).

In addition, we are just steps from Hog Island Market where fishing equipment, bait, fishing license, ice, beer, wine, and groceries are all available. Campbell's Bay Campground (6mi) is also close by for Pontoon, Motor Boat, or Canoe rentals. West Swanton Orchard (.9mi) is a great stop for apples, soft ice cream and souvenirs. Green Mountain Stables is directly across the street where visitors can watch the horses training or take riding lessons, and Missisquoi National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center is also just one mile away.

The cottage was recently renovated with all new flooring, painting, and furnishings. It's a truly unique cottage centrally located within the best Pike, Bass and Walleye fishing grounds on the lake!

For those who want a bit more adventure, the Canadian boarder is just 4 miles north. There is a nice small, waterfront town with several great restaurants called Venice en Quebec just across the border. Montreal is also only one hour north so bring your passports!

Amazing getaway vacation

Ohh..! Where to start..!! To summarize.. Amazing is the word. Lovely location. Great facilities. And when you need a break from busy life, this is a place you need to go. Me along with 5 friends decided to have a weekend getaway (10/5 - 10/7) at Vermont during foliage period. This location was suitable for us considering location and budget. We reached late on 5th, the location was not very difficult to find. There was welcome kit with all required information available. They had local brewed beer in fridge which was complementary. The bedrooms were clean and cozy. Kitchen was organized and clean with all utensils and disposable cups and plates available. Living room had lot of space. And the view from balcony was awesome.. lake view.. They had a recreational room with all the games listed in description. The kayaks were new and easy to use. Had lovely time kayaking in the morning with a great foliage view. The highlight was the barbeque grill, which was clean and ready to use. We already had our marinated food ready to be grilled. It came out really well. The only concern we had was the tap water which had a sulfuric odre. Which I think might be the issue with the location itself. We had to use the packaged water for our all needs. All and all a very relaxing, chilled out vacation for all 6 of us.. Thank you so much for giving us a forever cherishing experience. And thank you home away for making this experience possible.. Will surely plan to book this property again.

All the Comforts of Home!

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the Sunset Cottage. It was so cozy, very clean, and was equipped with everything we needed. We really enjoyed using the kayaks, spending time on the "beach" with our dogs, and having a fire in the pit nightly. There were plenty of games to keep us entertained, and the wifi and cable worked perfectly. The sunsets were the highlight of the day - Spectacular colors and views of the Adirondacks from the boathouse balcony. The king mattress was very comfortable and we slept like babies. The cottage is located in a rather remote, quiet area, but groceries and restaurants are 20-30 minutes away. The only con about our stay was that the water had a sulfur odor which is not unusual for the area. We were provided with PLENTY of bottled water for drinking and cooking so the occasional odor was not an issue for us. I would not hesitate to recommend the Sunset Cottage to anyone looking for a relaxing, comfortable getaway in a beautiful location.

Lots of space; amazing view

We loved our stay on Lake Champlain! Gorgeous sunset views in a nice quiet area. Couldn’t ask for anything more. There is plenty of space—our favorite part was the balcony with amazing views.
