Girls Getaway to Vintage Festival

Our yearly girls weekend getaway to Sonoma was wonderful. We really enjoyed this home, it was a perfect place to come home to after a day of adventures, it was clean, comfortable and in a quiet neighborhood. Our morning coffee was enjoyed on the patio overlooking the beautiful garden. Barry and Bonnie were great to work with, and we appreciated their quick response to our questions, and the ease of the rental process. Looking forward to our girls retreat next year at this home.

Weekend vacation

House is every thing as advertised and fully equipped for a comfortable stay. Barry was very helpful in recommending restaurants in Sonoma and the book in the kitchen lists the favorites. We tried a couple and were not disappointed. We visited a few wineries in Sonoma and also Jack London's home. All of the wineries were worth the visit and most did not charge or there was a very nominal fee. Napa was a disappointment, being too crowded and too commercial. Barry's suggestions for reasonable hotels in SF were also helpful as we finised our vacation there. We would definitely come back.

A little slice of heaven.

Valley of the Moon Wine Country Retreat is a formal way of saying, "The perfect, peaceful respite; well-appointed and conveniently central to the wine country." Bonnie and Barry are the most gracious hosts, generous in their welcome and thorough in their guidelines for what do and where to go. We've been here now 6 or 8 times and each and every time we want to stay for another week. Two comfy bedrooms, a great kitchen, wonderful backyard and a cozy living room. Perfect for two and still roomy for four (we shared a couple of long weekends with the parents). For a restful getaway to one of the most beautiful places on the planet, stay in this lovely home away from home.

Centrally located house

The house was very comfortable and centrally located. We came up to Sonoma to wine taste and this was perfect. It was very clean and the kitchen was well appointed and the bar be que outside was great. The owner was very accessible when we called with a question and called us back right away. We would stay here again.

Great weekend in wine country

I brought my East Coast family in town for a visit to wine country, and this Sonoma home made for the perfect base to explore Sonoma. We loved the backyard and grill, which was perfect for a low-key barbecue after a day exploring the area. We also liked that the house was right near by Route 12, which made accessing the wineries easy, but also a short drive to downtown Sonoma. We had a party of four adults, and the house felt spacious enough for us all! Considering that the hosts were also fantastic, we highly recommend the house!

Our home away from home

Ahhhhhhh! That just about sums it all up! This was our second stay at this lovely house in Sonoma because we enjoyed it so much the first time. It is wonderfully comfortable and convenient. We spent each evening on the back patio enjoying dinner and the day's wine-finds. Two trips and we still haven't managed to make it to ALL the vineyards...so we're going back next year and will most definitely stay here again! I'm already day-dreaming about it! Enjoy!

A great place to stay in Sonoma...

My wife and I were celebrating our 30th anniversary, and being wine lovers we decided to do an extended vacation in Sonoma. After looking through numerous vacation rentals online, I wound up choosing the first one I had found, Casa Bonita. It was a great choice. It was the right cost, the right location, and easy to book. It is a lovely two bedroom house just outside of the City of Sonoma. It was very clean and comfortable. We stayed for 8 days and had a wonderful time. The house is well supplied with dishes, cookware, pantry items, and a gas grill in the backyard. We cooked a quite few meals there. We also ate at a few local restaurants. The best was LaSalette Restaurant in the Mercato just off the town square. A great upscale (but reasonably priced) Portuguese restaurant that I would recommend to anyone staying in Sonoma. We of course visited many wineries, and found Casa Bonita to be perfectly located to explore Sonoma, Napa to the east, and the Russian River Valley to the west. Barry was a pleasure to work with and provided clear instructions on getting there and plenty of info on the wineries in the area, included many discounted and complimentary tasting coupons. I would recommend this place to anyone planning a trip to Sonoma.

wine country getaway

We enjoyed our stay at Casa Bonita very much. Even though we live in the Bay Area, it was so nice to be able to spend the day and night and not worry about driving back in the dark. The house is beautifully furnished and the back patio is wonderful. We really liked having a big table for the meals we had and the beds were comfortable and welcome after days of sightseeing and wine tasting.

Wonderful Stay

Comfortable, convenient, extra touches - just what we needed. Sunny yard was a lovely welcome to Sonoma - as was the bottle of wine waiting for us on the counter. Everything was clean and comfortable. This is not a fancy house. It is a small home in a neighborhood and it suited our purpose perfectly. Very affordable.

4th of July Getaway

We stayed at Casa Bonita during the long 4th of July weekend and had a wonderful time. The house is in a cute neighborhood that's only a quick $9 uber ride from the plaza. The back patio was an added bonus. Very reasonably priced and perfect for our needs.

Relaxing and conveniently located home

We had a lovely time at Casa Bonita and were welcomed with a local bottle of wine. The house was completely outfitted with everything we needed and easy access to the wineries. I recommend the Benzinger Winery tour and tasting...a fun and informative tractor tour on the bio-dynamics and cave storage. Really unique. My parents loved it.

Anniversary weekend

Enjoyed staying at this charming little house. We were close to all the wonderful activities, shopping and restaurants that this fun town offers! We did some wine tasting and touring at Cline winery. Then dining and shopping in town. 3 days was not enough time to take in all this town has to offer. Casa Bonita was so comfortable and had all we needed to relax and enjoy some of our wine purchases. The Walters had a binder filled with great information to help us plan what we wanted to see and locate areas. I have stayed at Home Away rentals that fall short on supplies like soaps, towels and dishes. This house even had shampoo and a blow dryer! I recommend staying here for a comfortable quiet stay.

Charming house just as owner described!

This was a conveniently located house where we could enjoy Sonoma and return to a cute place to relax at the end of the day. It was such a welcome surprise when we entered the home to find the owner's recommendations and ideas for places to try. The bedrooms were a perfect size for us and we enjoyed even bringing food back to dine at the house. I would recommend it for anyone looking for a quiet place where you feel comfortable and at home.

Lovely Home!

Thank you Barry and Bonnie! We needed a little 'home base' for our BottleRock Napa adventure, and Casa Bonita was wonderful. You're such thoughtful hosts. Small details make the difference. Thank you for sharing your home!

Perfect home base for our vacation!

My husband & 2 teenage sons had a fabulous stay at Casa Bonita! The house is so cute & clean, and the pretty little backyard is the icing on the cake...loved having our breakfast out there before we headed out for the day! Barry was incredibly helpful in suggesting local places for my sons to run, as well as local ferry information to Sausalito & SF GIants game. Sonoma was the perfect base with San Francisco, Muir Woods, Point Reyes National Seashore only an hour or so away. I would highly recommend Cass Bonita as a perfect place to stay when visiting wine country!
