This 100-year-old Venice Beach home is located steps from the sand on a quiet pedestrian walk street. Enjoy the beach lifestyle in this two-story, Spanish-style house. Lovingly maintained, it has original hardwood floors, beamed ceilings, and antique furniture. The sound of the ocean will rock you to sleep at night. There is a small rose-filled garden in front and a barbecue and hot tub in back. Great house for family gatherings. The kids can play on the beach or ride bikes on miles of bikepath along the coast. Many great restaurants and shopping opportunities abound within walking distance from house. Trendy Abbott Kinney is just a few blocks away. Explore the Venice Canals just a block close. Beach towels, chairs, and umbrellas are also provided to encourage you to enjoy the casual Venice Beach lifestyle. A great central location for enjoying all of Southern California's attractions.
Our family sure enjoyed the close proximity to the beach. Our grand daughter learned to surf and was thrilled.
We enjoyed the hot tub, very warm and inviting.
The outdoor grill was wonderful for some great meals and the kitchen and dining room were large enough for everyone to be together cooking and sharing some great memories.
Such a dreamy, breezy, lovely cottage, and so close to the beach. Our family had space enough to have peace and relaxation, and plenty of connection time. We loved it!
The house was a delight to stay in. Very cool and nostalgic. Beds were comfortable and the hot tub was a nice touch. As far as Venice beach is concerned, It seems clean and decent during the day, but I don’t recommend walking it at night. Much different crowd. But you’re close to a lot of things and can easily drive to other sights and attractions.
We really had no idea how close it would be. Didn't use our car once. Everything was in walking distance. The house had plenty of room and was quite comfortable.
We had an awesome time at this place. Its really close to the airport and right next to the beach. The only issue we had was that 1 bedroom had a twin size bed and two adults require more space. Apart from that the place had all basic amenities with lots of antique artifacts which goes well with house.
Everything about our stay was fantastic. The house is super cute, old school charm with lots of quirky features. Amazingly close to the beach and all the action in Venice. (though it's removed enough to be very quiet and peaceful, with more of a village neighborhood feel ) The owner Tina grew up in the house and was very friendly and helpful. We'd come back in a flash!
This home was perfect for our family of 4 adults and 2 kids. The three bedrooms on the 2nd floor gave us all our own space with 2 full bathrooms and a half bath on the ground floor. We enjoyed early morning walks on the beach and pier and found the best coffee shop - The Cow's End Cafe. Location was perfect for drives to the airport and Santa Monica. And the kitchen had plenty of dishes, utensils, pots, etc for cooking dinners and breakfasts. We hope to stay again one day.
We adored the Walter House! We had a lot of options including some trendy, modern looking places closer to the city, but this is hands-down one of our favorite vacation places. Because of the personal touches it felt like staying with a relative. It was comforting and close to everything. We traveled with our 6-year-old and 11-year-old and my mother-in-law. There was plenty of space to spread out and relax. The house also had all the items you'd need for cooking, playing (puzzles and games), and relaxing (hot tub, a small library of books, bluetooth speakers for streaming your own music). My daughter insisted that when we head back to LA we stay here again! Highly recommend.
We loved our time at the house. Easy to walk to the beach, shops, stores, places to eat, etc. Very well appointed with soap, towels, etc. Hot tub was super toasty - nice! Carport was a little snug with a large rental (had to climb out the back) but a normal sized car should be fine. The rental company gave us a new Expedition, so it was huge. If I get the chance to be in the area again, we'd go back.
