Description
This is a beautiful family cabin with 2 bedrooms, 1 king bed, and 1 queen bed. The additional loft has 2 x-long twins. The sleeping accommodations include 1.5 baths. This quaint cabin is nestled among pine trees and 1.7 miles to Lake Tahoe. This cabin accommodates a max. of 6 people and no smoking. A nearby year-round creek can be heard from the cabin's large relaxing deck. Sitting in the upstairs loft is a great place to relax and view the mountains and the huge pines. In winter, the view is spectacular with snowy peaks and a view of distant ski runs. The best sandy beaches on Lake Tahoe are in Incline Village: Burnt Cedar Beach, Ski Beach and Incline Beach. These private beaches have a boat dock, outdoor pools on the edge of Lake Tahoe, barbecues and eating decks. The famous Sand Harbor Beach, with giant lake boulders, is close by. But why go to the beach when you can barbeque and relax on the cabin's large peaceful and relaxing deck!
Incline Village also has wonderful hiking and biking paths, many with beautiful views of the lake. Incline has two great golf courses just a mile from the cabin. If you are into hiking or cross-country skiing, the Tahoe Rim Trail and the Mt. Rose Meadow is about 10 minutes from the cabin. The best sledding and snow play area around with views of the lake. For gamblers, the Hyatt Casino/Resort is 1 mile down the mountain with the beautiful Lone Eagle Grill overlooking the lake. If you want to visit Reno, 30 minutes down the mountain on the picturesque Mt. Rose Hwy will get you there.
Tahoe is known for its many ski resorts. Diamond Peak is 5 minutes away, Mt. Rose 10 minutes, Northstar 20 minutes, Squaw Valley 35 minutes. After skiing, there are numerous restaurants that you can enjoy a great meal overlooking Lake Tahoe with surrounding mountains. With the cabin's peaceful and beautiful mountain environment, close to Lake Tahoe and the playground of the Sierras, this cabin is a very enjoyable vacation home base.

Kids First Snow Trip
Carol is an amazing host and very accommodating. Big Rock Cabin is perfect for an intimate family getaway. The kids played rock paper scissors to see who would get the loft room because they both wanted to sleep in the bed near the giant window overlooking snow! The cabin is conveniently located near ski resorts, snow play areas and King's beach. We enjoyed our stay immensely! The kids are easily swayed to not take road trips so we were really excited when they both said they want to come back! Amazing they actually agreed on something :) The kitchen has a coffee maker (a must at our house), toaster and all the pots, utensils, etc. anyone would need to cook just about anything. We enjoyed a fire in the wood burning stove (wood provided) which topped off the evenings. We plan to stay again!

Had a great time playing in the snow!
We enjoyed our stay in this cozy cabin. It was the perfect amount of space for 3 adults and 2 kids. We loved being able to walk out back to play on the sled hill, build a snowman, and have snowball fights. It is close to the snow park, ski resort, and beach. We will definitely be back!
