Description

House, 3 Bedrooms, 2.5 Baths, (Sleeps 2-6)
Spectacular oceanfront home in the Village of Mendocino, within walking distance to town, restaurants, shopping, and at the start of the Mendocino Headlands. Fully-furnished kitchen open to dining area which is open to the living area. A very large solarium is in the center of the home with the rest of the house opening to and wrapped perfectly around so that where ever you are, there it is... The ocean, the headlands, the sunsets, the whales, and the breathtaking views!
Up until recently, 1/19, I had a wonderful wood burning fireplace...it had a chimney fire and I am in the process ...between guests to repair it. Just found out that if I want it to burn wood again, the whole rock and chimney needs to come out and replaced....So I will probably replace it with a gas insert, log burning one. Hope that does not disappoint anyone. Thank you for your patience thru the repairs. Thanks, Ruth
Just outside the two sliders of the solarium is a large deck with lots of deck furniture. On a more private deck but with a equally great view is the hot tub.

The gourmet kitchen has double ovens and gas cook-top with all the necessary equipment, dishes, pots and pans, serving bowls and platters, china, wine glasses. Also a fully-supplied pantry with spices, flour, sugar, coffee... Most of the basics.

All on a private approximately one-half acre lot. Available for small weddings or events.

Mendocino Whale Festival

Beautiful views, comfortable home, wonderful time at Whale Festival

Beautiful

Not sure about the previous review. Place was perfect! Got a call about the fireplace currently not working which wasn’t a problem, you should be spending your entire time on the deck anyway. Walking distance to town, great communication from Ruth, everything we needed to cook, hot tub, and spectacular location on top of the ocean. I would live here. Will be back annually if not more often.

A WONDERFUL Week @ The Headlands House

Thank you for the opportunity to enjoy your beautiful home and the wonderful Pacific Coast. Three couples, two from Iowa and one from Folsom enjoyed a fantastic week of friendship, fun, live music and GREAT fun in Mendocino, Little River, Albion and Fort Bragg. Your home is the perfect place to unwind and relax.

Beyond Beautiful

Best property I have rented in the last 10 years for my family and I to reconnect and enjoy Mother Earth at her finest! Great kitchen set up, all bedrooms were clean and cozy. We cannot recommend this spotless, breathtaking home enough! Every detail has been lovingly thought of, including the hot tub with the completely unobstructed view of the powerful Pacific. No matter if you are celebrating a group event, as we were, or crave time alone with your love, this is the spot. Thank you to the generous and responsive owner, Ruth. The home is very well appointed, and located within walking distance to the village of Mendocino, The Ocean, and the beautiful Headlands State Park! However, we spent most of our time enjoying the home, cooking, sampling wines and champagne, and reconnecting with our family. We can’t wait to go back!!

What a view

Third time staying here. Wonderful relaxing home with ‘to die for’ views of the coastline. Thanks again Ruth!

Beautiful Views, Great Location, Smooth Process

Great location on the ocean, 1 minute drive into the town of Mendocino, well-stocked kitchen, easy process for check in and check out. Will be back!

amazing views

Amazing was all I heard from my girl when we stayed here. The view from the deck and solarium were exactly as described and shown in photos. Just a few minutes walk to town, the place was great, I will book again.

Perfect for our family

This house is a great place for our 3 generations family—plenty of space for all, amazing sunsets, and walking distance to everything.

Best time

We rented the headlands house for four days and three nights. It was an amazing experience for my whole family, from my 16-month-old to my 15-year-old. Views were spectacular and the house offered everything that our family needed to have a wonderful time. Being so close to the Headlands Park was great forearly-morning walks into town. The hot tub was enjoyed by my teenager. My three-year-old and 16-month-old cried when it was time to go home. The first question they asked when we got in the car to drive home was ‘when do we get to go back?”
