Sunset Fishermen's Resort

Just spent a week in paridise at Sunset Fishermen Resort. Loved everything about this place. Our unit was # 226 and overlooked the ocean. The Resort was impeccably clean, staff was friendly and accommodating. Marlene,Raul, Adan, Freddy, Angel were all great. The restaurant was farm to table, everything was prepared wonderfully. We didn't go all inclusive, but you could if you wanted. We only did the breakfast buffet once, and the presentation was impressive and delicious. I would stay here again in a heart beat. Great location. A ten minute walk to downtown. One hour ride from the Cancun airport. My reservation with a return visit was all the seaweed on the beach. The staff worked tirelessly to bury the seaweed, no fault of the Resort.

Relaxing location, friendly staff and beautiful view.

Wonderfully peaceful location. We will definitely return. Recommend for 1 couple only; no kids, due to size. Condo has everything you need and WiFi worked better than expected. Pool is fantastic and location is convenient. We walked on the beach at sunrise to catch the ferry to Cozumel. Walked back late that night. Always felt safe. Only suggestion....wish hotel issues less conspicuous armbands that could be removed when going to 5th Avenue. There was no way to hide that we were American tourists which resulted in people offering for us to “get high” every few blocks. Not scary. Just annoying. Wouldn’t stop us from returning though. It was perfect location to sit on balcony and relax.

Great Place to Relax

My husband and I made reservations one week ahead of our stay. Lynn was prompt and professional to answer a couple questions before our visit. I had stayed in Sunset Fishermen's before, but this was a new condo to us. This, by far, is the best building to stay in, due to the unobstructed views. The condo offers a great view, comfortable balcony furniture, accommodating kitchen with everything we needed (pots, pans, dishes, stove top) to make our own breakfast and lunch, good size fridge, clean, fresh furniture, good linens and the air conditioner (in the living area) was great. I found the bed to be comfortable, but my husband mentioned that the topper on his side seemed to have some "holes", causing him to toss and turn to find a better position on the bed. We were two people staying in the condo for 5 days/4 nights. We were allotted 4 bath towels and 4 washcloths along with 2 hand towels. We made it work, but these two adults would generally appreciate at least 1 washcloth a day/each. I had read about the bedroom air conditioner not working well in other reviews, and that is still the case. We did use the ceiling fan and we cranked the a/c in the living area down in the evening hours in an attempt to cool the bedroom down for sleeping. It worked, but wasn't as cool as we'd have enjoyed. The condo is equipped with 2 tv's and on the last day, my husband looked at them and said, "We never even turned those on." This is an indication of how awesome our stay was! Would we stay in this condo again, yes. We would. Thank you, Lynn, for doing what you do to make your guests comfortable! As for the resort, excellent staff, clean grounds, amazing work trying to keep the beaches clear of seaweed, which seemed to be quite the task during our visit. We very much enjoyed our impromptu visit to Playa del Carmen and look forward to our next stay.

OUR SECOND STAY AT THIS BEAUTIFUL 1BR, 1.5BA CONDO AT FISHERMANS. STEPS TO POOL AND BEACH!

After staying at this wonderful 1BR oceanfront condo twice in the past 9 months---I can't imagine staying anywhere else. I have been vacationing in the Playacar/Playa Del Carmen area for the past 15 years. I have stayed at all-inclusive resorts, private homes and condos.....and NOTHING compares to my stay at this beautiful oceanfront condo at Fisherman's. The condo is neat, clean and nicely updated. It features a spacious bedroom with king bed and a private bath with nicely tiled glass shower. The main living area/kitchen/dining area faces the ocean with amazing ocean views! The kitchen is well stocked and had everything we needed. The dining area was the perfect place for me to sit when I had to work on my laptop - and I could enjoy the gorgeous views while doing so. The WIFI connection was solid and I had no issues working for a few hours each day. The resort offers an all-inclusive feature if you wish - but the food is average at best. We preferred to go to the grocery store and stock the kitchen during our stay - and also ventured to several restaurants in town. The staff at Fisherman's is AMAZING and remembered us from our last stay and took great care of us. It was very much appreciated. Fisherman's has the feel of a boutique hotel - which is charming to me - and the location is second to none. It is literally a 10-12 minute walk into town. The gated community where it is located is very safe and meticulously kept. The owner Lynn is a pleasure to work with - and she is very informative and quick to respond to any questions. I look forward to renting this unit again (hopefully sooner than later!!!!!) 5 stars in my book!

Nice clean condo with great views!

Me and my husband loved the place. Our trip timing was off (remodeling in the unit right above us and a storm outside), but the condo itself is lovely and has everything you would might need for a good vacation! We would definitely book it again. Regina

Great Location

We have stayed here twice. Last year the seaweed was fairly thick. This year we went a little sooner than last and the seaweed was almost non-existent. The people are very friendly and Lynn has one of the Best Views at Fisherman's. We will be returning again just have not decided when yet. The beach is excellent and there are plenty of places to sit out and enjoy the sun. I would suggest getting up a little early to put your towels on a spot because the best spots go fast. This is by far one of the best beaches in the area because they start clearing any seaweed that has washed up over night at about 5 am. If you think the photos look nice its nothing compared to seeing it in person. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to have an affordable vacation without being a boring all inclusive. The food at the on-site restaurant lacks a bit to be desired. The swim up bar at the pool is nice and the restaurant on the beach is good for lunch. We tend to look for local places to have our meals. The ferry to Cozumel is a short walk away along with many places to eat. The location of Fisherman's Village is un-beatable. Stay at this place you wont regret it!

Couldn't have asked for a better experience!

My boyfriend and I stayed at Fishermen's Village with his 9 year old son for 3 nights, and it was everything we hoped it would be! The location is spectacular and the size of the resort is just right! The beach has the softest, whitest sand I've ever seen, and the water is crystal clear. There were tons of options for seating on the beach or by the pool too! The resort has everything you need, and you can opt for the all-inclusive experience if you want. For $60 per person you get two meals and drinks all day. We only ate 2 meals at Fishermen's and enjoyed walking into town to various restaurants there, so we went a-la-carte. I highly recommend El Fogon on 30th Street - you'll need a taxi! It's near Wal-Mart too, and our taxi driver waited for us when we needed to run in for a few items. We also ate at the Techila Barrel and Pez-Vela both on 5th Avenue, which is a cool place to shop. Definitely try Aldo's gelato! You will be bombarded with sales people in town. We had a great experience with Easy Tours who arranged a tour of 3 cenotes near Tulum. That was an amazing experience for $60 US/person! We only exchanged $60 US for pesos, since US dollars are accepted everywhere. I recommend having lots of small bills...our taxi rides were $8 to $12 US, but the drivers didn't have change for a $20 bill. The condo itself is a great size and is in excellent condition - just like the pictures! The half-bath came in really handy!! The master bedroom stays nice and cool, but the bed is super firm! We ended up using the cushions from the lounge chairs on the patio as mattress pads by the third night;-) The staff at Fishermen's was extraordinary and arranged for taxis anytime we needed them. They also made great suggestions for places to eat and visit. We didn't have a chance to take advantage of the free kayaks or other activities, like parasailing or massages, which cost extra, but the boys enjoyed playing volleyball with other guests. Pool/beach towels can be picked up at the cabana next to the pool bar for a small charge to the room, and you can make reservations for activities there as well. The breakfast buffet was pretty good for about $12 per person with tip. Drinks were great and were reasonably priced too, as was lunch! Lynn was very responsive when I had questions before our trip and when we realized we left clothes in one of the drawers. She got me in touch with the property managers, who arranged to ship the items. We'd definitely go back!

beautiful condo in Playacar

This condo was perfect. It had everything we were looking for. Nice condo and amenities, air conditioning worked great, fridge kept everything nice and cold. The view from the balcony was just as pictured. This condo is in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood and a short walk to downtown Playa del Carmen. Staff was very nice and helpful although we did not need them for anything accept some ice to fill our cooler for the beach. The condo was stocked with everything we needed for our weeks stay and even some extra goodies we weren't expecting. We took a taxi to Walmart for $8 US and loaded up on food, beer and liquor for the week and taxi driver waited and drove us back for the same fee. We had breakfast, lunch and snacks at the condo and ate dinner at various places in town. If you are looking for a quiet get away with awesome scenery and great food and bars close by, this is your place.
