Casa De Emdeko is one of the most popular waterfront Condo complexes ; visit just once and, like most of our guests, you'll keep coming back. There is just something magical about Casa de Emdeko - there is a welcoming social atmosphere and you can meet other guests and owners in the evening on the community patio while watching the sunset or bbq'ing and dining oceanfront. Unit #115 is a first floor unit (easy access to everything) and very close to the ocean.
This newly refurbished 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom is on ground floor - easy access and just steps to the sandy beach area (no ocean access) and saltwater pool, yet still very safe, quiet and private. Master bedroom King Bed with a comfortable memory foam mattress. Queen sofa bed in living room. Unit is Approx 700 square feet. Sorry, unit not suitable for children. MAX OCCUPANCY is 2
Watch the amazing SUNSETS from the Tiki Torch lit patio area. Beautiful Community Gazebo and Gas BBQ's for your use. Lovely location, close to ocean and Kona
Stayed in unit 115 at Casa de Emdeko for 4 weeks in January 2019. The location was great for exploring everything on the Kona Coast. Enjoyed how well the unit was stocked with a lot of the basics one needs for a home away from home. The bed was very comfortable and because of the ceiling fans we only used AC twice during our 4 week visit. The salt water pool was a favourite of ours and the use of the bbqs was a regular occurrence. Enjoyed falling asleep at night to the sound of the waves. Would recommend this accommodation to any couple looking for a romantic getaway!!

Everything you need, Satisfaction guaranteed!
This is a lovely complex with an equally lovely landlady. Cathie Becker met me at the unit which was spotless. It was first floor near the salt water and fresh water pools which are both very clean and warm. Everything in the apartment works and security on the grounds are top notch. Entry codes for all gates and the apartment. There is a well stocked convenience store in a small plaza in front of the complex. This was a perfect location for my base as I was looking for a house so having a parking space expedited my many coming and goings. This is a very good choice for people that like value and quality at an affordable price. Mahalo Cathie.

Perfect Relaxing Vacation
We loved our stay at this condo. The Condo is nicely decorated and has comfortable furniture along with everything needed to make a perfect stay. It is very convenient to the pools and public spaces. We fell in love with the salt water pool and the views of the ocean over the rocks. The people there were awesome. Mahalo.

A Wonderful Find!
I was initially looking at major Kona hotels for our stay, thinking they would be a 'safer / more convenient' choice than a Vrbo. Then Casa de Emdeko showed up in my search. I just knew at the time I booked it I had made the right decision - our stay confirmed it. We could not be more happy with the condo itself (private, quiet, comfortable) and Cathie's hospitality made us feel welcome. We'll be back!

Fantastic Vacation

wonderful spot! Stayed May 30-June 10th 2019
My husband and I thought this condo was great! It had everything we could ask for and more. The area is quiet (except for the sounds of the waves) which was wonderful. The condo grounds and pools etc are well maintained and clean. Cathie and John were great hosts. Great place to stay
If you are looking for a place in Kona and you have a chance to stay, then give Cathie’s unit a chance. It has great amenities, and the infinity pool is a great place to to relax or watch the sunset. You are minutes from downtown Kona and a few beaches. Anything you need is within reach and you can contact her for anything. Thanks again for everything and we can’t say enough good things about Cathie and her lovely rental spot!

Our first choice in Kailua-Kona
We chose this property based on location and appearance. With a lot of Hawaii and Caribbean experience (15 Islands) in snorkeling and VRBO properties, this one shows extra care in quality, charm, and functionality. The unit and location are even BETTER than the pictures would indicate. The actual experience was over-the-top with everything in appliances and kitchen tools needed to prepare gourmet meals after long days of snorkeling around Hawaii. There's a Shark vacuum, plenty of linens and towels, and beach gear like boogie boards, coolers, and more. It was close to grocery supplies in Kona, close to West-coast snorkeling areas, and close to church. Checking in and out was simple and easy. The powerful AC, hot water, comfortable sleeping, and relaxing living room made for a great stay. Falling asleep to the sound of breaking waves was a definite treat. There were TWO television sets (Samsung Series 5 in the Living Room and another flat screen in the bedroom), that's a nice extra feature, and HDMI jacks to view our GoPro footage off the laptop. WiFi was decent for an island, cable TV had lots of channels on Spectrum. The clean tiled patio area and provided drying rack made daily wetsuit and snorkeling gear care a breeze. The unit has partial ocean views from both the front door entry and patio area. The Casa de Emdeko facility is a true resort itself with secure gated entry, ample parking, three huge Weber grills for guest use, both salt and fresh water swimming pools, cabana bathrooms with dual showers, gorgeous views, open and covered patio areas with tables and seating for many, a patio-style bar area, grilling area with tables and a ring of huge propane tiki torches, and an oceanfront man-made beach area with palm tree shade. The other residents and guests were friendly and nice. One special treat was resident Dean, a Hemingway-like character who holds court at each sunset with all 4 Hawaiian gods represented for the blowing of the conch at sun's setting. A Vietnam Veteran, Dean is a good example of the good-natured and friendly people we met on our trip: Casa is a quiet, family-style resort property. If you're looking for an affordable vacation rental that's clearly a cut above the rest, Casa de Emdeko is a place and and experience that you should make a part of your vacation memories: we will return to this property again!

The honeymoon
We loved the condo, the amenities at the condo complex, the location to the ocean, the location to town, etc, etc. The owner went out of her way to be accommodating. We will not hesitate to recommend this property to family/friends if they ever need a great place to stay on the Big Island.
