Our Blowing Rock home is in an exclusive gated development called Sweetgrass, located next to Julian Price Park off of the Blue Ridge Parkway and 221, just 10 minutes from Blowing Rock. The community offers maintained paved streets, private large stocked lake, free use of canoes, trout stream and hiking trails. The lake is Sweetgrass Lake which feeds into the well known Price Lake and the stream is Boone Fork Creek.
Home is not available from Holiday Rentals By Owners. The home is a 2,000 sf, two level modern mountain home with new furnishings from West Elm. Just completed in July of 2017, the home features lots of natural light and contemporary finishes. There are a total of four bedrooms and three baths and the home sleeps 12 in beds comfortably. There are two equal master bedrooms with king beds and equal baths including tile showers, dual vanities, and private toilet room. No more drawing straws for the best room. The third room includes one queen size bed and a twin bunk. The fourth room is a bunk room with two full/twin bunks (two twin beds and two full beds) that sleeps four. The full beds are at the bottom of the bunks and perfect for most adults. Here is a recap of the bed count: Master bedroom 1 = (1) king bed; Master bedroom 2 = (1) king bed; room 3 = (1) queen bed & (2) twin beds in one bunk bed; bunk room 4 = (2) full beds & (2) twin beds in two bunks.
The home has a ton of windows and is a very bright home. There is a wrap around covered deck with a wood-burning fireplace. The interior finishes and furnishings are modern which include shiplap on the walls, wood flooring, cedar beams, kitchen wood shelves, wall & bath sconces, cozy carpet, etc. Each floor has its own designated AC/heat unit for maximum comfort. The electric fireplace/heater in the family room can be run without heat creating the perfect cozy effects in the summer. There is high speed streaming WiFi and a large TV located in the family room with full cable. There are also two additional TV's; one in an upstairs loft with Nintendo Wii and one in the bunk room with Xbox360. There is a landline phone in home. The home is new and very clean and do not allow smoking or pets.
The home is situated on a one acre lot on a culdesac. It is truly private yet within a very exclusive neighborhood. The lot is wooded with a level yard area perfect and safe for kids to run around and play. There are two ground level patios, one with a barbecue and picnic table and the other with a fire pit perfect for telling stories and roasting marshmallows. The driveway is asphalt and can easily support four cars.
The property and Sweetgrass community can be found on google maps and on the internet, search Sweetgrass, Blowing Rock and you will find the developer's website with great images of the lake. There is a gate code, that will be provided prior to check-in. As a guest you will have full access of canoes and the lake. Please note that the Lakehouse is for homeowners only and the community quite times are 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM. This is truly a private lake experience and peaceful environment and we ask that all guests respect the community rules while you enjoy the amazing lake amenities.

Very nice retreat
The house and community are really nice. It was very clean and well outfitted. Our stay was in February over a rainy weekend so we'd like to come back and experience more of what the community has to offer but we still had a nice time.

Great Experience in Blowing Rock
My family (wife and 3 teenagers) and I stayed at this home for a week in Mid March. The home is super clean. It is right off the Blue Ridge Parkway and very secluded. We liked the house so much we stayed there one day and just enjoyed the trails, the community, and the fire pit. Blowing Rock is a great town, plenty of shops and good food downtown just 20 minutes from the house, although we cooked a fair number of meals in the house itself. There are plenty of trails and we enjoyed our day at Grandfather mountain as well. One of the nicest surprises was the bed and linens. Good solid comfortable mattresses and clean linens and we all slept really well at night. The owner was super responsive and really easy to work with. We loved the area and home so much my kids are already bugging us to go back as soon as we can. If you want to immerse yourself in the mountains in a more modern version of a cabin in the woods, this is the place.

Beautiful home
I rented this home with my sister in law's family and loved it! Beautiful decor and very clean. Nice amenities and our families of 5 and 4 were very comfortable and had just enough space. We went on a short hike on the trails in the neighborhood and the kids had a blast playing in the stream. The owner Bill was very helpful and always available to answer questions. I highly recommend this place and would definitely stay there again!

Family Vacation
Thanks for a wonderful stay in our favorite mountains! Your home was the perfect place to relax and regroup for all of our adventures into the surrounding area... Moses Cone, Peppers Restaurant, the original Mast General Store & Candy Barrel, Blowing Rock and of course, Tweetsie! Our kids loved the fire pit and canoes as well. :) Check-in/out couldn’t have been easier and close access to the Blue Ridge Parkway made travel to and from the house perfect. ??????????

Wonderful vacation spot!
The house is perfect for a vacation away from the traffic but close enough to Blowing Rock for fun, meals and shopping. The house is clean, nicely furnished with plenty of space for the whole family! The beds were comfy and the neighborhood is a great place for morning walks and afternoons at the lake. We truly enjoyed our stay and appreciate the information and support from Bill. We would definitely rent again.

Amazing stay!
Everything in regards to this rental was smooth! The house was immaculate and had everything that we needed for a party of 10. There was plenty of space for the teens that didn’t necessarily want to hang with the older people. The gated community provided a secure feeling with a relaxing environment. Most definitely would rent this heavenly home again!
