Please be our guest! Sandy Shores has been in the Hall family for over 60 years, and is currently owned and operated by Myrtle Hall. Myrtle is German-born and moved to Indian Rocks Beach in 2000 when she married her late husband, Ned. Ned’s grandmother bought the Indian Rocks Beach property in 1946. Ned's father George Hall built the first, two-story building in 1952. The one-story Gulf Cottage followed in 1972. Ned's family lived here in the winter, and spent the summer in Ithaca, NY, where his father was the Golf Coach at Cornell University for over 40 years. Ned followed in his footsteps as a PGA Teaching Professional for over 25 years. He was teaching at the Clearwater Golf Club located in Clearwater, Florida when Myrtle, in Florida on holiday from Germany, met him in 1998. Myrtle and Ned, of course, had their wedding right in front of beautiful Sandy Shores!
Like Ned, Myrtle fell in love with this beautiful property and its rich family history. Ned and Myrtle started to rent out their cottages in 2005 after a complete beautification and enjoyed every minute of sharing this lovely property with their guests. Myrtle carries on the Hall family tradition of hospitality at Sandy Shores and adds her special brand of German warmth. Her attention to detail and cleanliness makes Sandy Shores a unique and charming retreat.

Sandy Shores is a very unique “slice of old Florida”, with lots of flowers, palms, lounging areas, privacy, all with a relaxed vibe. There are only four units on the property and three of them rent on a weekly basis – so most of the time you have the whole place to yourself.
The Gulf Cottage is a single story, one bedroom House, very private, quiet and clean with a spectacular, unobstructed view of the Gulf of Mexico. It has a king bed and a queen sleeper sofa.
The kitchen has everything what a chef would wish for, a big fridge, dishwasher, microwave and stove included. The bathroom has a bath tub / Shower.
Behind the Gulf Cottage and landscaped courtyard is a two story building – the top floor I reside in – with the PATIO and GARDEN Cottages below.
The Patio has a King Bed and Queen Sleeper Sofa, the Garden has a Queen Bed and
a Queen Sleeper Sofa. Both have a full kitchen with stove, fridge, coffee maker and microwave.

*Minimum day requirements: From December 15th-the last Saturday of April, a 7 day minimum is required from Saturday to Saturday. The rest of the year, a 3 day minimum is any four consecutive days. *Check in is after 3 pm on your check-in date and check-out is at 10 am on your departure date. *Please call 30 minutes prior to arrival.
*PARKING IS LIMITED TO ONE SPACE PER UNIT. *No pets allowed under any circumstances. *You must adhere to the number of guests which were reported at the time of booking.*CANCELLATIONS: A sixty (60) day notice is required for cancellation. Cancellations that are made more than sixty (60) days prior to the arrival date are subject to a 5% cancellation fee or $50 which ever is greater. Cancellations or changes that result in a shortened stay, or that are
made within 60 days of the arrival date, forfeit the full advance payment and reservation deposit. Cancellation or early departure does not warrant any refund of rent or deposit. You may choose to purchase travel insurance separately.

Absolutely fantastic! Myrtle has thought of everything!! Stay here
This is our second time staying at her property and will continue to stay with Myrtle. Bringing only our clothes we had a sublime time staying since everything else is already at the property. Chairs, umbrellas even beach towels are in the closet waiting for you to use once arriving at the house. The old world charm of the cottage invites you to another time and place, far away from the mundane of everyday living. Restaurants extremely close give you multiple choices for breakfast lunch or dinner, all reasonably priced just across the street. With the beach just steps from the back porch you are greeted by the sound of gently rolling crystal clear waves of the gulf caressing the powder sugar sand which this side of Florida is known for. Don�t pass up this opportunity to get away from all that is sucking the life outta of you and recharge with a stay at Sandy Shores, you won�t want to leave.

This place is a treasure~!
We could not have been more happy with this property. It was just as listed on the website. This is no high rise building on the beach. So much better. There are only 4 cottages on this property and the owner resides in one of them. So, it's kinda like you are vacationing with friends as you see the same people come and go. Myrtle was a joy to work with and we enjoyed visiting with her and getting to know her. Our cottage, the patio I believe, was just 60 steps (I counted them) to the beach. When I go to the beach, I want to be right on the beach, no walking across the street for me. But half the time we didn't even go down to the beach. There are lots of trees on this property and plenty of places to sit in the shade if you wish (and I like the shade). My day went like this: Up early and down to a lounge chair under a tree overlooking the beach. As soon as the sun started encroaching upon my shade, (about 10 am) I would move to a different chair which was still in the shade. There I would sit enjoying reading my book and listening to the waves. The property has lots of trees and plants and interesting things to look at. During the hot part of the day I would go in and take a nap or sit just outside our door under the umbrella and continue to enjoy. Later in the day, we would take chairs and go sit down at the beach until the set went down. The cottage was perfect for our family (myself, my husband, and our teenage son). The bed was very comfortable and there is plenty of storage in the bedroom and the bathroom has lots of storage too. The kitchen has everything you need to cook your own meals if you wish. And the living room (where my son spent 98% of his time) was beautiful and comfy as well. And it was his sleeping space as well, the couch became his bed. Another thing I liked was that there were beach towels in the cottage and plenty of chairs that you could take down to the beach. It's nice to not have to pack and travel with all that stuff. Also, no steps or elevators to take to get outside. The area of town is pretty quiet and there are places you can walk to for dinner and shopping. Grocery stores are not far away either. I love Indian Rocks Beach on the beautiful Gulf of Mexico and we will most definitely be back some day and stay in one of Myrtle's awesome cottages. I can't think of one single negative thing to say.

A Hidden Gem on the Beach.
What a stroke of luck to find this hidden Gem! If I could rate Sandy Shores 8 stars, I definitely would. These cottages are located right on the beach and just across the street from some amazing restaurants. The gardens are beautiful with several seating areas, gas grill, outdoor shoewer, and the best part is the "awesome hospitality of the owner". Myrtle supplied every amenity possible in the cottage including Beach chairs, towels, umbrellas, sun screen????? etc.. I can't find any faults with our stay. This will be our go to destination on our next trip to Florida!! Thanks Myrtle!
