The 'Alala at Stained Glass Cottages is nestled in the heart of Volcano Village, in the rain forest atop Kilauea Volcano, at 4000ft elevation. This cozy detached, fully independent cabin features an artistic feel with stained glass hand made by local artist, while including upgraded amenities you expect in high end hotels. Stained Glass Cottage’s ideal location is only 1/2 mile from the Sunday morning Volcano farmers market, and 2 miles from Volcanoes National Park.
For those wanting to venture out for a night time hike at the park we provide umbrellas and flashlights. This is a rainforest, so you will probably experience a shower or two on your adventure. If it’s the beach you’re heading for, we have you covered with a cooler, beach towels, snorkel equipment, boogie boards, and beach chairs. If you simply want to hang out at the cabin, there are restaurants that the hosts can recommend for dine in or take out, or there is a grill under your private Gazebo for your use.
Other amenities include king size pillow top bed, private parking, free Wi-Fi, 40” Flat screen smart TV, DIRECTV with HBO, washer/dryer, full-sized refrigerator/freezer, hair dryer, bathtub, shower, heater, Alarm Clock, in room safe, Smoke/Carbon Monoxide detector, and more.

The Stained Glass Cottage is a fully independent detached cabin. Access code and Wi-Fi password will be provided via email prior to arrival.

If you book more than 1 Night your rate is discounted is $119.00 per night. There are no additional fees, & all taxes are included in the nightly rate.A 50% non-refundable deposit is required when booking. The remainder is due 30 days prior to your stay. There is no refund for cancellation within 30 days of your stay.

Michael and John's place is perfect! It's very close to the entrance of Volcano National Park. It's kept in perfect condition! They are extremely thoughtful and so many extra touches to make it special. We would love to come back!

This is a beautiful place in a beautiful location. The inside is sparkling clean and full of amenities. The outside patio is so inviting. Every time we turned around we were delightfully surprised with attention to detail. We are super hosts on the Kona side and we know how much work this takes to make guests feel at home. This a great place to stay
This a great place to stay on the Big Island! The cottage has all the amenities you could possibly think of and is super clean and cozy. The Keurig coffee maker was a huge plus, we loved it. Also, the house is in a beautiful location in the rain forest and the Volcanoes national park is just a 10 minute drive away. We stayed for a week and the house was even cleaned and we got fresh bed sheets after a few days. Thank you very much! Would definitely stay there again.

Michael's place was one of, if not the nicest rental property we've ever stayed at. He's got great taste and design and everything is sparkling clean. He's added all sorts of little details and amenities (snacks, cream and milk for coffee, toiletries, movies, etc.) that make this place perfect in every way. From the moment we booked, to when we checked out, it was all flawless. I can't recommend this place enough and next time we are back in Volcano, we will absolutely stay at Michael's again.
