Description

Our Guest safety and comfort is of utmost importance to us, and we understand the recent news of the Coronavirus outbreak has many of our visitors justifiably concerned. To help, we have implemented extra cleaning procedures and protocols including disinfection of all commonly handled surfaces as well as additional protective measures put in place with our cleaning staff. If there are any specific questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to ask!

We also recommend trip insurance for extra peace of mind. It is very reasonably.

Welcome to our spacious beachfront Cottage on Historic Pass a Grille Beach, directly overlooking the glistening Gulf of Mexico. You will enjoy stunning sunsets and a magnificent moon lit ocean view.

Feel free to call with any questions

The cottage is situated above the garage to our other rental property. It has its own access. Very private. Approx. 500 sq. feet. One bedroom one bathroom. Street parking with pass. Private washer and dryer. Secluded sitting area in back of the house. We just installed central air. Great views of the beach.

What—Never heard of Pass-A-Grille Beach? Well, then, before we tell you about our house we’ll have to educate you about the first beach community on the Gulf of Mexico to be developed as a weekend get-away location for successful Tampa and Saint Petersburg residents.

The area is a small spit of land merely 31 blocks long and one block wide at the south end of St. Petersburg Beach, starting just south of the historic Don Cesar Hotel. Pass-A-Grille got its name from Cuban fishermen, called “Grillers,” who would camp on the island to smoke their catch of fish before heading home. As you traveled through the pass you could see their fires, hence the name Pass-A-Grille.

Pass-A-Grille is NOT your typical Florida “beachy” beach town with hotels, motels, swimsuit stores and fast food stores wall-to-wall, If you are looking for this, you’ll have to go further north, past the Don Cesar. Pass-A-Grille is more sedate with a convenient grocery, quaint shops, inviting bars and restaurants, and a more relaxed style. And, everything is within easy walking distance, because the blocks are short.

22 blocks of beachfront and walkway a few steps to a nearby dune walkover. Once you cross the dune you’ll be presented with a wide, sandy beach stretching in both directions. It's like having your own private beach. There are never big crowds. A locals secret.

You’ll find some good bars, restaurants, and ice cream shops on this (the west) side. The Hurricane Restaurant is one of the most popular places, and you’ll get a great view while sipping a drink at the third-floor bar. By the way, there are no high-rise hotels on Pass-A-Grille—there are a couple of 7-story condos, but that’s it—

Or, walk one block to the other (east) side of the island, where you can dip a line in the water, arrange a fishing charter or scenic cruise, or merely stroll along the marine sites to some rather excellent restaurants. .

Less than an hour from the many attractions in Tampa and St. Petersburg. Our house is 2 blocks from the southern end of the island, and as close to “on the beach” as you can get. To the west there is the Gulf of Mexico, the beach, the street, and our house.

Perfect apartment

Very responsive and accommodating owners. Beautifully renovated well appointed apartment. Wonderful gulf view. Steep staircase may be challenging for older or less mobile renters. Would definitely recommend to prospective renters and would rent again.

July on the beach

You cannot beat the location and the graciousness of the hostess. For those seeking a relaxing vibe on a picturesque swimming beach with nearby entertainment and necessities, this is a solid choice. The accommodations include comfortable air conditioning and a fully appointed kitchen and laundry. Beach accessories too!

Excellent location.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay very much. We would definitely recommend it as a great place to relax and rest. Contact has always been accurate and fast, the infrastructure of the house is excellent.

Lovely

Great location. We could see the ocean from the kitchen. The unit had everything you could possibly need. So quiet. Very clean and comfortable. Owners were so very helpful. Perfect place for two. Full size couch, bright kitchen, nice size bedroom. You could walk out the door and cross the street to the beach or the bay. Sunsets from the kitchen window. Like a little house with no one above, or on the sides. Always looking for this kind of unit. Would definitely stay again.

Great place

Loved the location, would definitely rent again

Beach cottage

This cottage was fully stocked with everything we needed for our stay. For the kitchen, the beach, even the laundry. We arrived with our groceries and immediately enjoyed this Very convenient and quiet location with incredible views. Short neighborhood walk to market, restaurants and ice cream shoppe. Beach across the street

All you need!

2nd year renting this property. Katie communicates very well with her guests. This proerty has all that we need including a washer/dryer, beach chairs and umbrella. The property is clean and Katie is keeping up with maintenance and improvements. The property is within walking distance of 6 restaurants. . .this is such an easy vacation spot especially with the white sand beach right across the street. The best deal in Pass-A-Grill!

Very Relaxing

Perfect amount of room for two. Nice private entrance. We loved being at the end of the beach. Away from the more crowded areas. It was a short walk to restaurants. There were a few minor issues that the owner handled very quickly. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to return to this property soon!

Perfect Beach Location

This was a perfect space for the two of us at the end of Pass-A-Grill beach. It was very clean and well stocked and the owner was very responsive. She called to let me know after my flight had landed that the unit was ready.

Relaxing vacation

Great place to relax and unwind. This place is at the end of the island so a lot less traffic. This unit is above a garage attached to the main house with a good view of the Gulf and across the street from the beach. Katie the owner was very responsive to any questions we had. We definitely recommend this place, and we would love to come back.
