silent holidays in the "green nowhere"

During the Corona-pandemic we finally managed to make our holidays in the pre-booked holiday home. The house was nice with some small matters. On arrival, we found the keys in a box at the wall and let us in by ourselves. Communication if necessary was only possible by telephone. The host was friendly and helpful, any questions were answered in time and requests were fulfilled also very quick (e.g. fresh towels and bed linen after a week). The house was situated in a group of 3 or 4 objects within green fields and trees. No civilization in direct sight, the next village was some miles away. A car is highly recommended. The winter garden was very nice for vacation and relaxation. We were able to visit a badger running over the meadow. We made several excursions to many sightseeing targets. All rewarding places were as near (or far) in the same kind by its relative central situation. We recommend collecting the necessary information in front of the holiday because one of the biggest problems was the missing (or at least poor) internet connection. There is no Wifi available neither internet by cable and the connection by phone was very poor and worked only at some places with poor speed. Here are some further critical points you'll not find in the listing: - 1st floor was very small (in height), persons over 1,70m easily get a headache if not carefully - kitchen equipment was very poor (maybe because of Corona) - bath equipment was partially broken (cistern) and the shower was very small and old, windows in the bath very old and dirty - mattress was old and worn out - one-glass windows could endure new paint All-in-all it was okay and acceptable as it wasn't our first holidays in Scotland but knowing this all we had chosen another home. Thanks nevertheless. David

Bonne location

Nous avons passé un bon séjour, nous remercions le gardien qui est venu nous chercher à 3h du matin sous la pluie. Le petit bémol manque de couvert et ustensiles de cuisine.
