It is rare to find a small private house for 2 people in a perfectly peaceful position enclosed by 5000m2 of private land and garden, within short walking distance of the busy and cosmopolitan Fiskardo and at only 50 meters from the nearest swimming spot. The house is compact (48m2) and consists of one large bedroom, a bathroom, a living room and a well equipped kitchen. There are two large terraces with amazing views and the shore is so close that you can hear the music of the sea.
The wonderfully located Amaryllis House has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Simple traditional furnishings are brought to life with some lovely imaginative touches giving it a real home-from-home charm. Doors from the living area lead out onto the two glorious private terrace with spectacular views across the water to Ithaca, legendary home of Odysseus. There is plenty of room to lie back and dream of the Greek Gods or to sit and enjoy a leisurely lunch or romantic dinner under the stars. The beautiful gardens surrounding Amaryllis House, are brimming with colour: bougainvillea, plumbago and geranium tumble into one another, all lovingly tended by the owner, giving the place an authentically Kefalonian feel.
However, the real beauty of Amaryllis House is its proximity to the pretty fishing village of Fiskardo, with its tempting array of shops, bars and waterfront tavernas, just a 5-minute walk away. Swimming and snorkelling are possible from the rocky shoreline at 50 m below the property; or wander along to the enchanting Foki beach, just a 10-minute stroll away, this idyllic spot is fringed with olive and cypress trees. There is so much on your doorstep, even the possibility of hiring a boat and exploring the numerous beaches and coves that are a feature of this beautiful coastline
There is no need for a car at Amaryllis House.
This is the perfect base from which to enjoy the delights of this splendid location.
If rented together with the neighbouring Manona suite, Amaryllis House provides the perfect venue for a mixed generation or two couple holiday. Manona Suite is set within the same grounds but totally separate and private – see the picture gallery.

For the last 10 years, Amaryllis, the owner, has welcomed guests with the successful cooperation of a tour operator. After gaining so much experience, she has now decided that she will manage her property independently. with the help of Catherine, a professional who runs the small but popular La French Touch Fiscardo, will now manage Amaryllis House. The house is therefore a new addition to VRBO and for this reason you will not yet see any reviews from previous guests

Lovely quiet spot just on the village outskirts with a great view for the sunrise
Had a lovely week staying at Amaryllis. We spent our time swimming in the sea below the cottage, watching the yahts come in and out of the harbour and relaxing on the shady terrace. DIdnt find the house lacking for anything. Ate a few times in the village, its expensive for the food quality but I think thats all of Greece. We had a car so drove to a recommedned taverna accross the other side of the island but its not essential given how close it is to Fiskado town.

Ein ganz besonderer Ort
Wir haben den Aufenthalt im Amaryllis House sehr genossen. Es liegt am Rande von Fiskardo, sodass man trotz der Nähe zum Hafen (5min zu Fuß) komplett im Grünen ist. Die traumhafte schattige Terrasse war unser Lieblingsplatz, da man einen wunderschönen Blick auf’s Meer und Ithaka hat und auch die ein- und ausfahrenden Boote beobachten kann. Das Wellenrauschen, das man auch im Schlafzimmer hört, war extrem beruhigend. Der Vollmond ging direkt vor uns über Ithaka auf und ließ das Meer schimmern - romantischer geht’s nicht! Das Haus hat für zwei Personen die perfekte Größe, ist liebevoll eingerichtet und hat von Wasserkocher bis Reinigungsmittel alles, was man benötigt. Die Vermieterin wohnt oberhalb im Haus auf dem Gelände und ist sehr nett - sie spricht sogar extrem gut deutsch. Die Empfehlungen für Restaurants und Strände sind top. Wir haben immer sehr lecker gegessen und mehrere Strände in der Gegend ausprobiert - die meisten davon sind allerdings kieselig.
