We loved our two nights at Hale Melemele

We loved our two nights at Hale Melemele, particularly enjoyed sitting on the the covered lanai (porch). The photos give you a good feel of what the home is like– it is spacious and breezy, a welcome change from the warmer Kona side where we live. It was a great location for showing our NZ family around the Hilo side of the island. Faith responded quickly to any questions we had and made us feel welcome.

We absolutely LOVED this Place

We absolutely LOVED the peaceful, rainforest-like setting of this property. It's clean and very private. One of our most memorable activities during our week-long stay at this Nanawale Estates property was simply relaxing on the back lanai listening to the pitter-patter of the rain (frequent) and the song of the coqui frogs... However, potential guests are forewarned that the nearby 2018 volcanic lava flows have severely reduced the number of local attractions...

This is a beautiful house

This is a beautiful house off the beaten path. We checked in at night and struggled a little bit finding the house. I utilized the picture of the house to make sure we were at the right place It was so cool to fall asleep every night to the sounds of frogs chirping. The house is a bit far from downtown Hilo (about 30 or 40 minutes). The National Park was closed when we went, so we ended up doing a bit more driving than expected. The views on this side of the island are just spectacular, so the drives were always rewarding. My girls were so happy to find some buckets and floaties to bring to the beach! Thank you for opening your home for my family!

Such a beautiful place and great location

The photos for this place does not do its justice. Such a beautiful place and great location. It was the perfect getaway for my family and I.

We’ll be checking it out again for our next visit.

Faith’s house was excellent for our family of four. It was fully stocked with everything we needed—full kitchen, soap, plenty of linens, washer and dryer, and even some kid’s books and toys. The house is at the far end of the subdivision, so very quiet. Check-in and out is easy. The house is just as it’s listed and we’ll be checking it out again for our next visit.

Nice clean

Nice clean, comfortable abode in relatively undeveloped, quiet residential neighborhood of tropical greenery with substantial driving distances from typical tourist attractions.

Our stay was delightful and we would highly recommend it to anyone!

From even before we booked Faith’s lovely home to the moment we checked out, we could not have had a better experience. She was very responsive whenever I had questions, and her place had everything we needed! We loved the spacious layout with a full kitchen, living area, screened in porch, two bedrooms and two bathrooms. It was a great set-up for my husband’s parents and us. We also loved the location - just down the road from the newly-opened Lava Tree State Monument in one direction and from the quaint town of Pahoa in the other direction. And within an hour or two we were able to get anywhere we needed to on the island. We enjoyed lots of great local cuisine (Pahoa Fresh Fish and Pele’s Kitchen in Pahoa; Kamana Kitchen in Hilo was the best Indian food we’ve ever had!) and fun excursions. It was great to have a washer and dryer in the house, plus beach chairs, towels, and even a good flashlight that we were able to use when exploring Kaumana Caves (a definite highlight of our time there!). I was glad I had my portable kettle because there wasn’t one in the house, but the kitchen was well-stocked with all sorts of dishes, cooking utensils and pans, and even various condiments. Overall, our stay was delightful and we would highly recommend it to anyone!
