Wake up to the sound of the jungle. Bring your binoculars for the wonderful array of exotic birds right off the patio. In this peaceful, secluded and romatic retreat, in an environmentally protected area, you can escape the noise and activity of town. It is just minute's walk (7-10) from it's "own" gorgeous beach and close enough to town for nice walks through fabulous jungle (1.3 miles south of town.)
This is a house with character--a 100 year old Balinese teak house and casita perched above papalillo trees and palms, with a view of Monkey Mountain. The two bedrooms consist of 1 king bed, one queen, and there is a Bali bed in the living room, for a smaller person. The deck overlooking the jungle has two daybeds to relax, read and watch the amazing birds.
Throw open the hand carved shutters to the soothing air of the sea and jungle. On 3+ acres of exoctic, lush land, it is set in a grouping of 5 other like-style houses, all barely visible from each other on cobblestoned roads. A short stroll (7-10 minutes) takes you to a stunning, secluded beach, or walk the jungle road to town for your morning cappucino or noon fish tacos...And when day is done, fall asleep to the sounds of the jungle, the waves.
OUr retreat is actually 2 separate rentable houses; the Main Casa (2 bedroom, full kitchen, huge deck and patio) and the Casita (1 bedroom with deck overlooking jungle, mini "kitchen"). They can be rented separately or together. THIS LISTING IS JUST FOR THE 2 BEDROOM MAIN HOUSE.
Sayulita is a happening, cobblestoned Mexican fishing town with a friendly, happening zocolo (central plaza) as well as fantastic restaurants and shops. Take yoga , learn Spanish, explore the jungle, surf, snorkle or just relax with a margarita to the sounds of the surf and jungle.

A unique and lovely place
Liz's "Jungle Retreat" is just that. Nestled in the jungle canopy, with a fabulous soundscape from all the jungle wildlife, is a little community of south-Asian homes imported plank by plank from Bali. Totally unexpected, wonderfully unique, Liz's house is a mix of Asian and Mexican influences enhanced by her own exuberant artwork. We just loved our stay there. The nearby beach, Patzcuarito, is heavenly and, in our experience, nearly deserted except for a couple local dogs who were happy to play with us in the surf. We enjoyed Patzcuarito far more than the bigger and busier Sayulita beaches. Back at the house, you can expect the land crabs to join you on the patio and, if you're not looking, even inside the house. They're cool, harmless and amusing little creatures and our kids thoroughly enjoyed following them around the property. The house itself is absolutely clean, tidy and comfortable for hanging out. A really great find, and we'd highly recommend it.
