Like the rain forest ridge that Parrot Estate has occupied since 1990, the house continues to evolve. Traditionally Caribbean inspired, the aim is to provide harmony between the accommodation and the surrounding landscape.
Contemporary facilities do not detract from a close and involving dialog with the living forest and the captivating Caribbean sea.
Two double bedrooms and two shower rooms allow comfortable living for four whilst the open plan living area and surrounding covered terrace invite a communion with jungle around you.
From sunrise to sunset this is a place where the holistic benefits of the environment never fail to nourish.
This is a place to feel alive.

We loved waking up every morning to watch the parrots from our hammocks…the chakalaka birds sure didn't let us miss it! Our first breakfast was grapefruits right off the tree on the property…our only regret was not being there in wet season because they also have mangos, bananas, and more all over the property! In general, this villa was a relaxing and romantic escape in the rainforest…though I'd definitely recommend a 4x4 vehicle to get up to the estate. Castara is only a 10 minute drive and the beautiful Englishman's Bay Beach is closeby, though a fairly steep hike! The house itself came loaded with extras that we were appreciative of…lots of cooking ware, extra towels and bedding, games, and beers in the fridge when we arrived. We did have an incident with the stove burner being a bit old and the element frying on us but the barbecue turned out to be a better option anyway! Jason, who tends to the grounds and the guests, was absolutely amazing to us…he brought us all of the local fruits we should try and even a catch of the day fish with some local herbs and spices. He also showed us around the property and taught us about everything they grow there. This villa is definitely a hidden gem and if you want a more remote getaway in the middle of nature, you need to check it out!
Amazing hideaway in the jungle just outside Castera
We could not have been happier with our choice of places to stay here in Tobago's lovely Castera community. The house and setting were perfect for our needs; not super fancy, just peaceful, tranquil and ideal. Our 5 year old was in the pool daily, as were we. Waking up each morning to the parrots chattering in the tress and bamboo was great. So many fruit trees on the property, friendly neighbors, and Jason. Jason oversees the property and is a value added asset not to be underappreciated. He went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay, and became a good friend.
It was hard to leave and we look forward to returning, the sooner the better.
Just what we needed for a really peaceful break away from everyday pressures. The villa itself is a haven on the edge of the rainforest with amazing bird life on view much of the time. A short walk away is the beach, but we preferred the pool side, plenty of shade and comfortable hammocks to lounge in. We also enjoyed the large gardens with the many exotic fruit trees. The local fish restaurants are excellent and only a short drive away. Jason was really incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, and added to the pleasure of our holiday.
