Spacious Cottage on Gorgeous Wine Country Estate

Description

Large and beautifully appointed, separate country 'cottage' provides you with all the comforts of home in the midst of the amazing wine country of Sonoma and Russian River Valley. The kitchen is fully stocked for the gourmet cook, and offers both gas and charcoal grills for staying in and BBQing on those long, warm Summer/Fall nights. The deck has an eastern exposure -- perfect for sipping a cup of Peet's coffee (provided) and watching the hot air balloons take to the sky. And the private jacuzzi is a wonderful place to unwind and count the endless number of stars.

A vineyard of pinot noir surrounds the gated five-acre property, providing views in every direction. 2011 marked the year of our first harvest -- It was a beautiful event for us. Now we have several vintages in the bottle and, if you love Pinot Noir, we would be honored to provide you with your first taste of this incredible area.

You will feel like you are far away from it all, when actually charming Windsor is only 2 miles away, and the lovely town of Healdsburg, with incredible shopping and dining, just 5 miles.

This is some of the most enchanting cycling country you will ever experience, and if wine tasting is your thing, this property is at the gateway of Russian River, Dry Creek and Alexander Valleys.

We spend time with our guests, when we are in town and upon request, making recommendations for wineries and restaurants, along with the many other activities this area offers. We want you to leave here feeling rested, relaxed and full of wonderful memories to reflect upon! Cheers!

Fantastic!

Wonderful property. Wonderful owners! Can’t wait to go back!

Luxury

Two senior couples stayed here for 3 nights. One of the best VRBOs we’ve ever stayed in. Communication with owners was excellent even though they were not on the property. Top shelf everything including white bathrobes that we used when we enjoyed the wonderful hot tub. Comfortable beds and high quality linens. Everything is in perfect order. Great location for visiting Sonoma County and beautiful views of owner’s vineyard.

Incredible Stay!

My wife and I traveled here with another couple this Summer and were blown away by the property and our hosts, Susan and Ron. The house was very clean and in great shape. Us and the other couple had plenty of privacy but the shared living room, kitchen and upstairs patio made it very easy to just hang out together. Ron and Susan's property contains their own private vineyard and it also backs up to a neighboring vineyard as well, so the views in the area are just amazing. Plus, the house is tucked away down a small side street so it feels like you are away from everyone but at the same time, you have easy access to nearby wineries and towns. Susan and Ron were so nice and very helpful with recommendations for us to check out in the area and if you need any help, they are more than willing to lend some advice. If you and another couple are traveling to Sonoma, I can't recommend this property enough. At the end of our stay, we did not want to leave.

Fantastic stay!

My wife and I stayed here with another couple for three nights and had a fantastic time! The cottage is located on a quiet road with easy access to RRV wineries, downtown Windsor and Healdsburg. The surroundings are beautiful and we enjoyed being so close to the vines. The setup is perfect for two couples with one of the suites being downstairs. Plus the hot tub, deck and patio, grill, comfy bed - this place checks all the boxes. Cheers!

FABULOUS

This is a fabulous property - well-appointed, all comforts one could want, beautiful & quiet location, not far from wineries. We spent the weekend there with another couple, and appreciated the space and privacy afforded by the layout. Hosts were lovely and helpful. We couldn’t ask for anything other than more time - maybe next visit!

We loved our stay here!

The property is beautiful! The home was lovely, comfortable and well stocked. It was also convenient to so many of the wineries and restaurants we wanted to visit. I would recommend this home to anyone.

Beautiful, quiet and comfortable

Our party of 4 enjoyed three restful nights while in the area for a weekend packed full of bike riding, sight seeing and a wedding. The property is as advertised!

PERFECT!

This is a beautiful, comfortable, welcoming property and the owners, Susan and Ron, are delightful people. We were here as a group of 4 -- a cousins reunion after almost a decade of not seeing each other together. Susan and Ron were respectful of our privacy, but there when we needed them with advice and suggestions, and warm friendly conversation. Their adorable dog Roxie made it all the better -- so loving and playful. :) Great location for heading north to Healdsburg and beyond, or south to Santa Rosa, Petaluma, and even Marin County. And the buildings are located in a private area off the main road, so it truly feels like you're in complete countryside. The property is gorgeous -- beautiful view of their vineyard, open fields, some cows in the distance. Rooms are clean and bright, the living area has ample space, and there's a well-stocked pantry and toiletries in the bathrooms as well. The kitchen is amazing. The couches, comfortable... and there are plenty of books to read and games to play. Washer and dryer are great amenities as well. OH... and the hot tub is wonderful! Can't say enough nice things about this place. A definite place to come back to at any time of year. Looking forward to that... :)

One of a kind!

I've been visiting the Healdsburg area wineries for over 15 years and rented many houses in the region. I can confidently say that the Old Camp House is unique. It's in the country but only minutes away from an awesome market and restaurants. This house also has the best supplied kitchen (utensils, spices, coffee, etc) I've ever seen in a rental property. Tom and Susan are wonderful hosts.

Run, Don't Walk for the Opportunity to Stay Here

This was an absolutely fantastic place!!! There is nothing the owners, Susan and Ron Stockman, have not thought of in terms of comfort and style. We stayed in the apartment on the upper floor and loved every minute of it. The place is spacious, immaculate, beautifully decorated and comes with a plethora of food items such as olive oil, coffee, salt, pepper, condiments etc. to make your stay great. There is a gourmet grocery store, Oliver's, about a mile and a half away that we visited several times for steaks, wine and other gourmet goodies to serve our dinner needs. You are on a working Pinot Noir vineyard so it is very scenic and quiet but only a 10-15 min. drive to Healdsburg which has wonderful shops and great restaurants. The property is also very well located for touring and tasting various area vineyards. There is a Weber Grill for cottages guests use and a large deck with gorgeous views over the vineyard and garden area. Our stay here was at the end of a two week long tour of Northern California and while we enjoyed every other place we stayed, this was truly our favorite. After long days of wine tasting, shopping, etc., this property was a fabulous haven to return to----a home away from home. After being in the travel industry for 37 years, this is one of the most memorable, special places we have stayed. Thanks so much to Susan and Ron for creating this oasis---we will certainly be back and would recommend it to anyone looking for peace, luxurious comfort and relaxation. You won't be sorry if you stay here.

Can't wait to visit again!

I visit wine country nearly every fall, and couldn't think of anywhere else I'd like to marry the man of my dreams. We rented this cottage, along with our best friends, for our wedding and honeymoon. It was absolutely perfect! The house is just beautiful, the separate apartment on the first floor made the house perfect for two couples who want to vacation together, but still have their own privacy. The kitchen was well stocked, the bathroom was perfect, the beds comfortable. The hot tub was great, walks along the rustic road were perfect, and sitting out watching the sunrise over the vines from the upstairs deck, hot air balloons lifting in the distance, with a steaming cup of coffee couldn't be beat! Susan and Ron were lovely, and were such gracious hosts. I can't imagine marrying the man of my dreams and spending my honeymoon anywhere else. We can't wait to visit again!
