Awesome week spent here on vacation
Our family enjoyed our vacation at this charming comfortable beach home. Our grandson's surfed, caught there first fish and enjoyed the beach & park by day. As we settled into this home away from home by night. We loved it so much we are making plans to return again this coming summer. The photo's don't depict the true feeling of home and comfort that we experienced. Our 5 year old calls this, his very own beach home. He would never allow us to stay anywhee else. The owners where helpful, kind and easy going, Very concerned that we enjoyed there property and our vacation. The home was beautiful and had everything we could think of needing and more. Great place for a family. Even our dog loved this property.
Awesome Beach Home Exactly what we were looking for!
Our 2nd annual family vacation at this adorable beach house was absolute bliss! the house is so cute, decorated with a lovely beach decor and surrounded by the beautiful views of Marina park and the beach. This year's stay was even better then last years. The owners Mary & Patrick have thought of everything & are very accomodating. The library of books, movies & games are perfect for family night. There are enough bikes for the family to enjoy a perfect ride to the ventura harbor, the pier, surfers point and many choices for lunch along the 2.5 mile bike trails nestled up against the coast line. sitting outside in the yard or the second story balony, you're surrounded by lush green grounds, and all kinds of little birds, you can just relax, read or enjoy the view. Fishing at the dock of Marina park just outside the back gate is a favorite for the kids, as is the ship swing and playground. The boys love being able to drag the surfboards and catch a wave just feet from the house. Taking the water Taxi to the Ventura Harbor is a wonderful treat for all, and an easy no hassle way to attend Pirate Days, have dinner or just sit and watch the boats in the harbor. Looking forward to our 3rd annual vacation in 2013, at our home away from home beach house..
Family Beach Getaway without the Crowds and Cost but there was plenty of Comfort!
Our family had a great week! We have rented a lot of properties over the years, and for once this property delivered MORE than advertised. The view from the upper deck is marvelous while the lower deck is great for cooling off with a light breeze. We watched sunsets from all rooms and upper deck and on our walks along the breakwater. Each sunset was so memorable. This duplex is fully furnished with toys for little and big kids; you'll have all your beach activities covered from building sand castles & boogie boarding to biking & sun-basking. You don't need to bring anything but your clothes and food. The Units were well-stocked with basic sundries, toiletries, and food seasonings, all of which we didn’t expect but greatly appreciated. It’s just the honor system; if you use it up, replace for the next guest, we felt like family staying here. The owners have a detail packed book of places to go and things to do that we referenced more than the dozens of tourist guides we picked up at the visitors center downtown. Basically it was genuine hospitality. We BBQ every night, except one night we went to Café Fiore for live music and great Italian. After hours, we were surprised to find another great band at The Tavern set inside a historic mansion built in the 20’s… But mostly, we spent long dreamy days on the beach. There is a grass park in back of the duplex that you can access from a back gate. The park is well-maintained with plenty of green grass and a fun playground that even includes a zip-line for kids connected to a pirate ship. Right behind the park, is the beach with moderate size waves, lifeguards, and plenty of room to stretch out. Not bad for a 5 minute walk! Speaking of 5s, the boat launch is less than a 5 minute drive and was never packed. They have clean facilities with a bait barge and fueling station. They also have a fresh water boat-cleaning cleaning station on the way out. Fishing is great inside the harbor on tide changes or you can motor to the islands. We found seals basking on the port buoys, and playful porpoise swam in the boat wake to the thrill of the grandchildren! We shucked and grilled our own Oysters. We shopped at the farmers market on Saturday and downtown is lovely, clean and quint, filled with unique shops and dining options. In my opinion, you can't go wrong with this location and the townhouse, it is so livable you won't want to leave, we can’t wait to come back!
Girls Weekend
My girlfriend and I sent an awesome weekend at this perfectly appointed townhome! We are both from Southern California and hadn't had a girls getaway together for some time. We enjoyed our own rooms and shared bath, the beach, the quiet, the downtown local shops and restaurants, Santa Barbara and the outlets and more outlets! We took a day trip to Oxnard and hit a few eateries my friend found on Yelp! I would highly recommend this property for a romantic getaway, too. It is comfy and lovely and ideally located a hop, skip and jump from the ocean. It doesn't get much better than that.
AMAZING RENTAL!
This was our families first time to do a vacation rental. We were more than pleased with this place. We couldn't say enough about this place, owner very informative. Was in an amazing location, very family friendly, kitchen very well stocked. Owner was an amazing person to work with more than generous. Walking distance to the park and beach, house has boogie boards for kids, and much more. In words al I can say is AMAZING! we will definatley be renting again if we are back in the area!!! you will not be disappointed by this one. Price was amazing for the place.
Intro to the US
My son's introduction to the US was warm and accommodating in this beachside duplex. Mary was very helpful throughout our planning even though there was a 15 hour time difference. The house is stocked with so many items and spares of Everything you can think of! Cycling around Ventura was easy and I was grateful of Mary and Patricks generosity for the use of their bicycle. Even after a last minute change in plans from 3 down to 1 weeks accommodation, Mary was happy enough to be flexible and even drove up to Temecula from San Diego to refund us! Can't thank them enough for their generosity and hospitality. Nice memories of Coastal California.
Wonderful unit, perfect location
We rented this unit for a week and couldn't be happier! Mary was so helpful and accommodating. It is a great location right behind the park and beach my kids love and the unit had everything we needed. You can also walk (or use the bikes in the garage) to the store, Starbucks, dinner spots and a great yogurt shop for dessert. We plan on coming back again!
PERFECT IN EVERY WAY WITHOUT A DOUBT
This was our first stay here. We were familiar with the area as we try to stay in this location once a year. This by far was the nicest most relaxing place we have stayed at. More than enough room for four people and two small dogs wonderful patio and backyard and the park behind was great for walking, looking at the ocean or eating at one of the tables. Everything we needed was there all we had to bring was the food. Thank you Mary for being so kind in helping us enjoy your wonderful beach house.
